Estrada moves up at Southside Bank
Elva Estrada was promoted to assistant vice president — community banker at Southside Bank. She’s worked for Southside for more than 18 years and has experience in retail, management and lending. Her new role will focus on assisting small business customers throughout East Texas with their lending and business banking needs.
Estrada serves on the board of People Attempting to Help in Tyler — PATH and other nonprofit boards, including the Tyler ISD Foundation and First Tee Greater Tyler.
Carroll promoted to principal at Terracon
Terracon recently announced the promotion of Clayton Carroll to principal.
Carroll serves as office manager for the Tyler and Longview offices. A native of East Texas, Carroll is a licensed professional engineer with experience including the management, supervision, and performance of geotechnical investigations in commercial, industrial, municipal, mining and transportation projects.
He prides himself on the lasting relationships he has built within the industry and continues to build throughout the country.
Carroll holds a B.S., Civil Engineering from University of Texas at Tyler.
Topcat promotes Downs to COO
East Texas-based Topcat Cos. named William “Will” R. Downs its new chief operating officer.
Downs brings 41 years of oil and gas industry experience in the E&P, A&D, service and operations sectors. He joined Topcat Waste Management Facility as executive vice president and chief operating officer in August 2020 and has been responsible for management of the drilling fluids and solids waste disposal site in Waskom.
“I am excited about this newly created position with Topcat Companies,” Downs said. “I believe this opportunity will drive performance across all companies and aligns with my passion for building high-performing teams.”
After earning a bachelor’s degree in geology from Centenary College of Louisiana, Downs served in various staff and management capacities with oil and gas exploration and production companies in the Shreveport area. He also co-founded and served as president of Trinity Disposal and Trucking, a commercial saltwater disposal and transportation company operating in East Texas and North Louisiana.
Topcat Cos. consists of Topcat Well Service, Topcat Oilfield Transport and Topcat Waste Management, providing servicing (workovers and plug and abandonment services), wireline services, saltwater disposal, transport services, drilling waste disposal and related services.
