CRANFORD – The Cranford Board of Education named Gabrielle Rendek the new Supervisor of Social Studies and Business Management & Information Systems for the Cranford Public Schools District on Monday night.

According to the release, Rendek was selected following an extensive search process which included multiple interviews with the selection committee and a very thorough reference check. Rendek will be replacing Ms. Judith Podbelski who is retiring after serving the district in this position for the past 17 years.

Rendek began her career as a teacher of Social Studies at Cranford High School. In this role, she has refined her craft teaching across content areas and levels including Economics, History, Financial Literacy, and the University Program’s Action Research senior capstone program. Recognizing the need to be responsive to students’ academic, emotional, and cultural needs, Ms. Rendek has served as a representative on the Intervention and Referral Services Committee, the Data Team, the Faculty Advisory Committee, and as a teacher mentor.
