The Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce will host its business awards luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pueblo Union Depot.

Andrew Trainor, regional president of Legacy Bank, will receive the Charles W. Crews Business Leader Award, and the Pueblo Community Health Center will receive the Business of the Year Award at the lunch.

The Pueblo Community Health Center provides primary health care as well as pharmacy, lab and case management services to underserved populations in Pueblo. The center has been in operation 39 years and in January opened a new 64,000 square-foot clinic on the east side.

Trainor started his banking career in 1981 as a management trainee. Since then, he has served in many different capacities, from a teller to president.

In 2004, Trainor joined forces with Dave and Frederick Esgar to start the Legacy Bank expansion, growing the bank from a $60 million, one-location bank to a nearly $500 million bank with nine locations.

The cost to attend the event is $35 per person or $500 for a six-seat sponsor table. For reservations, contact Terri Kallish at [email protected] or 719-542-1704.

Workforce webinar

The Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment and Colorado Department of Labor and Employment are hosting a webinar covering the Work Opportunity Tax Credit and the Federal Bonding Program, on Tuesday, May 10.

The programs intend, among other things, to assist employers in hiring job seekers who face significant barriers to employment.

Those who attend the webinar will be placed in a drawing for a chance to win a $25 gift card.

The webinar will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. on Zoom at https://bit.ly/3CrQ0r8 (Meeting ID: 879 3352 8533 Passcode: 608575).
