Vice President, Business Analyst

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks a Vice President, Business Analyst in New York, New York
Deliver technical solutions that align with business initiatives. Track and report detailed metrics to provide
status, demonstrate progress, and identify potential areas of risk that must be escalated to senior
management. Elicit and analyze business needs for projects, determine the impact and integration of
solutions to business processes and systems, and validates that solutions fit within the long-term strategic
vision. Interface with Product owners and developers to collect and document business and system
requirements. Create technical system design and specification and user behavior requirement documents
that can be used for creating an efficient and usable system. Create and maintain system interface
documents. Handle product backlogs, backlog development, and regular backlog grooming activities in
partnership with product owners and technical team members. Handle preparation for all Agile ceremonies,
including Program Increment (PI) planning, PI demonstrations and reviews, Sprint Planning, Sprint
Demonstrations, and Retrospectives. Assist the Product Owner and other stakeholders in user story
creation or prioritization and product Backlog grooming via emergent requirements. Ensure user stories
include testable validation criteria Analyze functional requirements and system models to determine
missing elements. Collaborate with and support developers and testers during their design, development
and testing efforts to provide support for their analysis of the story.

Qualifications:

Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (any), Computer Science, or a related field of study and three
(3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as a Business Analyst, Technology Analyst,
or related occupation in the technology field. Requires three (3) years of experience with: Business analysis
and systems analysis; Software Development Lifecycle methodologies including Agile and Waterfall;
Interpreting customer needs and translating them into application and operational requirements; Presenting
complex technical issues to business and leadership; Providing inputs into quality assurance and user
acceptance testing (UAT) and supporting defect triage; Working on large scale process or system
reengineering projects; Coordinating project milestones and timelines; Tools including HP Quality Center,
MS Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Wireframe software including SnagIt and MS Visio;
project and portfolio management software including MS Project; project delivery management software
including JIRA; and SharePoint.
